About

My name is Angel Wang- a bilingual (English & Cantonese) junior creative digital designer with a passion for creating accessible and innovative UX Design solutions and content creation. The prototypes I create helps me visualise and communicate my design ideas effectively, aligning user preferences with business goals. With my unique blend of experience in multiple sectors and commitment to inclusivity, I strive to design products that are usable and enjoyable for a diverse audience.
My journey as a digital designer specialising in UX Design
Design was a foreign world to me until I started my UX journey in 2022 and completed Google’s online UX Design Professional Certificate that equipped me with a solid foundation in design principles. As a part of the certificate, I worked on a final project that focused on developing a platform to empower disabled users in finding employment opportunities. This experience allowed me to combine my design skills with my empathy and understanding of the needs of individuals with disabilities.

As a result of this certificate and from various research experience, I became passionate about conducting extensive marketing research for audits/analysis as well as UX research by managing research studies, interviews, and usability studies, and integrating research results to optimise design choices.

My design principle focuses on equity and accessibility considerations and I always strive to incorporate accessibility-related standards such as WCAG 2.1 AA, and universal design principles into my work.

The design process I follow comprises of exploring user empathy by identifying pain points, ideate solutions, constructing wireframes/prototypes, testing, and iterating on designs.
My background

Nursery rhymes all day, every day

I was born in Hong Kong, migrated to Australia when I was 6 years old and pursued a career in education because I enjoyed helping people. I have 2 years of working as a piano tutor, 1 year as a childcare educator and I have a Bachelor Degree in Education (Primary & Early Childhood).
At my very core, I was once, and still am, an educator (life happened, I was in a wheelchair, career change blah blah).
However, I can still help people through design.
“Learning is not a destination; it is an ongoing process where you synthesise as your understanding evolves. Knowledge is not a fixated construct, it is constantly evolving. We never stop learning because we never stop understanding.”
